SELINSGROVE, PA – The York College men’s track and field team traveled to Susquehanna University last Saturday to participate in the second Susquehanna Indoor Meet. The Spartans registered five top-15 finishes including three top-tens.
Senior Nathan Krotzer (Wrightsville, Pa./Eastern York) earned York’s best finish of the day taking seventh in the high jump with a leap of six feet, two inches. Junior Jason Kane (Baltimore, Md./Archbishop Curley) also earned a top-ten as he took the eighth spot in the triple jump with a distance of 40 feet, two inches.
Junior sprinter Gabe Henise (York, Pa./Dallastown) captured two of the Spartans’ top-15 places. Henise ran to a tenth place finish in the 55 meter dash with a time of 6.70 seconds while the junior landed in 13th in the 200 meters crossing the line at 23.80.
In the weight throw, junior Gary Rynier (Lititz, Pa./Warwick) launched a distance of 39 feet, 3.75 inches to place 15th in the event.
The Spartans now hit the training grounds hard in preparation for their first official meet of the season on Saturday, March 8. York is set to travel deep into Maryland for the Salisbury Invitational slated to begin at 10:00 am.
