SELINSGROVE, PA – Junior sprinter Gabe Henise (York, Pa./Dallastown) earned a pair of top-ten finishes as the York College men’s track and field team visited Susquehanna University last Friday for the Susquehanna Indoor Meet. The Spartans recorded eight top-ten individual finishes while logging 13 spots in the top-15.
Henise earned his best finish in the 55 meters running to fifth place with a time of 6.71 seconds. In the 200 meters, Henise captured his second top-ten coming in sixth with a time of 23.71 seconds. Ryan Liggitt (Windsor, Pa./Red Lion) came in a mere .08 seconds behind Henise in the 200 and took ninth in the event.
Nate Krotzer (Wrightsville, Pa./Eastern York) opened his senior campaign jumping to a height of 6’0.75” to place fourth in the high jump. In the pole vault, junior Steven Kinnear (Bel Air, Md./Bel Air) catapulted to a ninth-place finish with a height of 11’11.75”. Two Spartans placed in the top-ten in the triple jump as junior Jason Kane (Baltimore, Md./Archbishop Curley) bounded to ninth with a distance of 39’3.25” while Krotzer backed-up his high jump performance with a jump of 39’1.75” good for tenth in the triple. Joe Begendorf (Washingtonville, N.Y./John S. Burke) earned York’s highest finish in the long jump with a leap of 18’9.25” good for twelfth out of 21 athletes.
Junior Gary Rynier (Lititz, Pa./Warwick) earned sixth out of 20 throwers with a distance of 42’9.75” in the weight throw. Rynier grabbed the twelfth spot in the shot put with a throw of 35’1” while freshman Zack Raywood (Hamilton, N.J./Nottingham) came in fourteenth with a heave of 34’4.25”.
Back on the track, freshman Danny Bosse (Sykesville, Md./Century) placed a solid thirteenth out of 34 runners in the one mile with a time of 4:45.85. All-Capital Athletic Conference cross-country standout Jesse Jaeger (Kingsville, Md./Perry Hall) grabbed fourteenth out of 23 participants in the 5,000 meters crossing the line at 17:18.48.
The Spartans return to Susquehanna on Saturday, February 16 with the indoor meet beginning at 10:00 am.
