Spartan Men Fall to UMW on Saturday

FREDERICKSBURG, VA – The York College men's tennis team dropped an 8-1 decision to the University of Mary Washington in Capital Athletic Conference action on Saturday in Fredericksburg, Virginia.

The Eagles, who are ranked 16th in the country, improve to 10-2 overall and 1-0 in the CAC. The Spartans are now 6-6 overall and 1-1 in the league.

The Spartans' lone win in the match came from Tyler Richard as he earned a 6-1, 6-0 sixth singles win over Connor Macmurdy. The Eagles won the other five singles matches in straight sets while the Eagles captured all three of the doubles points.

The Spartans return to action on Friday when they head to Middletown to face the Penn State Harrisburg Lions in a Capital Athletic Conference match. The contest is slated for a 3:30 pm start.
