Spartan Men Drop Tight 5-4 Decision at Gettysburg on Friday

GETTYSBURG, PA – The York College men's tennis team dropped a tough 5-4 non-conference decision at Gettysburg College on Friday night in Gettysburg, PA.

York 0-3, Gettysburg 1-0

 

Match Winners vs. Gettysburg

Second Singles: Sam Innerst (YCP) def. Nick D'Amore (GC), 6-0, 6-1

Third Singles: Devin Lehigh (YCP) def. Kevin Maier (GC), 6-4, 2-6, 10-2

Fourth Singles: Lukas Olson (YCP) def. Thomas Gillio (GC), 6-4, 6-1

Second Doubles: Sam Price/Ben Sentz (YCP) def. Kevin Maier/Thomas Gillio (GC), 8-4

The Spartans have lost two straight against the Bullets … York's last win came on April 2, 2015 at Gettysburg, it was a 5-4 win for York … The Spartans have not started the season 0-3 under head coach Ryan Weber … junior Sam Innerst picked up his first win of the season after sliding into the second singles role after being the Spartans' number one for the last two years … Innerst now has 12 career wins for the Spartans …
