Spartan Men Fall to CAC Front Runners

FREDERICKSBURG, VA – The York College men's tennis team faced a pair of the top squads in Fredericksburg, VA on Friday and Saturday.

On Friday, the Spartans fell to Christopher Newport 9-0. On Saturday, the Green and White dropped a 9-0 decision to #17 Mary Washington 9-0.

In the match against the Captains, played tough but were unable to capture any victories. The third doubles team of Jake Greenstein (Morris Plains, N.J./Parsippany Hills) and Nathaniel Hoskins (Gap, Pa./Pequea Valley) battled Lloyd Luck and Jake Smith but eventually dropped an 8-5 decision.

In singles play, Matt Rosenkrantz (Longmeadow, Mass./Longmeadow) dropped a 6-2, 6-3 seconds singles decision to Steven Boslet.

In Saturday's match against Mary Washington, the Green and White did not win more than three games in any of their doubles matches.

Rosenkrantz played well in his second singles match, as did Hoskins in the third singles match as the two Spartans dropped 6-1, 6-4 decisions in their respective matches.

The Spartans return to action on Sunday when they host Juniata in a non-conference contest. The match is slated for a 10:00 am start.
