Men's Tennis Drops Fall Finale

COLLEGEVILLE, PA – The York College men's tennis team concluded the fall portion of their schedule with a 7-2 loss to Ursinus College in a non-conference contest. The loss is the first for the Spartans as they fall to 3-1. The Bears improve to 2-0 with the win.

The Bears captured two of the three doubles matches to seize the early lead. York's lone victory came from Zach Hanson (New Freedom, Pa./Susquehannock) and Ian Howdyshell (Fredericksburg, Va./Riverbend) as they combined to win a marathon third doubles match 9-8 (8-3).

Ursinus won five of the six singles matches with York's lone win coming from junior Daniel Erk (Leonardtown, Md./Leonardtown) in the fourth singles match. Erk defeated Alex Elbogen 6-2, 6-1 as he improves to 6-2 for the fall.

The Spartans are now off until late March when they will begin their spring portion of the 2013-14 schedule.
