Men's Tennis Season Comes to a Close with CAC Semifinal Setback
FREDERICKSBURG, VA – The York College men's tennis team saw their 2013 season come to an end as the Spartans dropped a 9-0 decision to #25 Mary Washington in the semifinals of the 2013 Capital Athletic Conference Tournament.
The top-seeded Eagles improve to 12-10 overall as they are ranked sixth in the region. The Spartans conclude their season with a mark of 12-9.
The Eagles cruised in the doubles as they posted 8-0 victories in the first and third doubles match and notched an 8-1 win in the second doubles contest.
The Spartans didn't fare much better in the singles matches as the Eagles won all six in straight sets. Mary Washington won six of the 12 sets by a 6-0 score.
The Spartans conclude the season with 12 wins, which ties the second-highest total in school history. The 2008 squad holds the school record with 15 victories.
