SALISBURY, Md. – The York College men's tennis team fell to Salisbury University 8-1 in a Capital Athletic Conference matchup on Wednesday afternoon.
With the loss, the Spartans fall to 8-4 overall and 0-1 in the conference while the Sea Gulls improve to 3-4 and 1-1 in the CAC.
Salisbury jumped out to an 3-0 lead after sweeping the Spartans in all three doubles matches. The Sea Gulls continued to play well in singles competition. York fell in the first three matches. In the third match, Nathaniel Hoskins (Gap, Pa./Pequea Valley) fell late in three sets. The first and only win for the Spartans came during the fifth singles match. Jake Greenstein (Morris Plains, N.J./Parsippany Hills) fell 6-1 in his first set, but came back to win the next two and seal a point for the Spartans.
York returns to action Friday, March 15 at 4:00 pm for a home matchup against conference foe Mary Washington.
