YORK, Pa. - The York College men's tennis team proved triumphant against visiting Frostburg State University Saturday with a 5-4 victory over the Bobcats in the Spartans' final regular-season Capital Athletic Conference match of the season. The win advances the Green and White's record to 9-7 on the season including a CAC mark of 4-3 while the Bobcats fall to 9-8 and 2-4 in league action.
York's second straight victory began by collecting two points in doubles play. Tyler Cheatham and Nathaniel Hoskins were victorious in their second slot doubles match with an 8-4 result. The sophomore pair has now put together a strong 12-4 mark together this season including a 7-3 record over their last ten matches.
The Green and White secured the team victory via three singles points, garnering the second (Philip Myers), fifth (Rosenkrantz), and the sixth (Greenstein) spots. Myers posted a 7-5, 6-4 result to snag his 11th win in singles play this season. Rosenkrantz, who now stands at a Spartan-best 12-5 this year, won fifth singles in straight sets, 6-1, 6-2, while Greenstein also collected a two-set triumph, 6-4, 6-2.
Returning to the court on Monday, April 16, for their third match in three days, the Spartans conclude the regular season with a 4:00 pm home non-conference tilt against Penn St. – Berks.
