YORK, Pa. – The York College men's tennis team fell 7-2 to visiting Salisbury Tuesday afternoon in Capital Athletic Conference action. The loss drops the Spartans to 4-4 overall (0-1 CAC) while the Sea Gulls improve to 2-5 (2-0 CAC).
Despite the defeat, Nathaniel Hoskins proved integral in both points for the Green and White. In doubles play, Hoskins teamed up with Tyler Cheatham as the pair snagged an 8-6 doubles triumph in the third slot. That victory pushed the Hoskins/Cheatham pairing to a strong 7-1 mark this season including a flawless 4-0 record at third doubles.
Hoskins also recorded a triumph in singles action as he secured the fourth spot for York. In a three-set tilt that went to extra points, Hoskins registered the 1-6, 6-3, 10-6 victory. He now stands at 5-4 on the season while for his career, the sophomore sports a 21-11 overall mark.
The Spartans return to action on Friday, March 30 as York hosts Wesley in CAC action. Match time is slated for 3:30 pm.
