YORK, PA – Senior Tim Mowrer
(Gordonville, Pa./Pequea) has been selected as this
week’s Capital Athletic Conference Men’s Tennis Athlete
of the Week. Mowrer, who led York to a 2-0 week, put together a
strong 3-0 personal mark including 2-0 in singles play.
The senior Spartan picked up win number one of
the week in doubles action. Mowrer teamed up with sophomore
Colin Jones (Felton, Pa./Red Lion) to best
Hood’s top doubles pair by an 8-6 count. He followed that
effort with a 6-4, 6-0 win in York’s top singles slot.
Mowrer then grabbed his eleventh singles win of
the season against Wesley on April 8. The senior topped
Wesley’s #1 by a 6-1, 6-1 result.
Sporting an 11-4 mark in singles and an 8-6
record in doubles, Mowrer will lead the Spartans into their final
regular season match of 2009 this week. York and CAC foe St.
Mary’s are slated for a 3:00 pm contest on Wednesday, April
15, in St. Mary’s City, Md. However due to inclement weather
