HILTON HEAD, SC – The York College
men’s tennis squad split a pair of contests Wednesday in two
matches at Hilton Head, S.C. The Spartans fell 9-0 to Division II
Kutztown before topping Grand Rapids Community College 8-1 in the

Rapids drops to 3-5.
Spartan #1 Tim Mowrer (Gordonville, Pa./Pequea Valley) put in a valiant effort in his match with Kutztown’s Santiago Bauerizo. Mowrer bested Bauerizo in the first set by a 6-3 count but the Golden Bears’ #1 rallied in the latter two sets to take the match 3-6, 6-2, 6-4.
