Gettysburg Downs Green and White
GETTYSBURG, PA – The York College
men’s tennis team dropped a 6-3 decision to Gettysburg
College Friday afternoon in Gettysburg. The loss pulls the
Spartans’ 2009 record down to 4-6 while the Bullets improve
to 5-2.
Tim Mowrer (Gordonville, Pa./Pequea
Valley) provided the Green and White with yet another
victory at #1 singles. The senior standout notched a 6-4, 7-6 (7-3)
triumph to secure his seventh individual win of the season.
Steve Collison (Westville,
N.J./Woodbury) captured the Spartans’ other singles
match victory in the #4 slot. The junior rolled to a 6-2, 6-1 win
over Mike McLaughlin as his 2009 record improves to 6-4.
York’s third point of the contest came in
#3 doubles as Collison paired with fellow junior Paul Graci
(Exton, Pa./Bishop Shanahan) to garner the win. The duo
posted an 8-4 victory over the Bullets’ Kevin Raynes and
Corey Marsh.
The Green and White return to action today,
March 28, as they take on Salisbury. The Capital Athletic
Conference match is slated for a 2:00 pm start in Salisbury.
