
Junior Tim Mowrer (Gordonville, Pa./Pequea Valley) helped the Spartans extend their win streak to seven with a pair of wins this week as he earned the Capital Athletic Conference men's tennis Player of the Week for March 17. The Spartans defeated Gettysburg 7-2 on Tuesday and then downed Villa Julie 9-0 on Thursday.
Mowrer went 2-0 in singles and 2-0 in doubles for the week. Against Gettysburg, he defeated Dale Beshore 6-2, 6-1 in singles play and then teamed with Joel Trimmer to post an 8-4 win at second doubles.
Against Villa Julie, he rolled to a 6-2, 6-1 win over Ryan Morse in singles play. He again teamed with Trimmer to notch an 8-1 win at second doubles.
For the season, Mowrer is 7-1 at first singles while he has teamed with Trimmer to go 7-0 in doubles. They are 1-0 at first doubles and 6-0 at second doubles.
