Gina McHenry embarks on her 19th season at the helm of both the men’s and women’s swimming programs at York College.
A graduate of York, McHenry has been associated with YCP for 24 years. She swam with the Spartans for four seasons before graduating with a degree in recreation and leisure administration. One year after her graduation, McHenry returned poolside for the Green and White as an assistant coach. The following year, she became the head coach of both squads.
McHenry brings a wealth of experience to the Spartan program, evidenced by her tenure as York’s head coach and her affiliation with the American Swimming Coaches Association. She is a three-time Capital Athletic Conference men’s swimming Coach-of-the-Year, winning the award in the 2003-04, 2005-06, and 2006-07 campaigns. McHenry, who ranks first all-time on the Spartan coaching career wins list with 171 total victories, with 91 on the men's side and 80 in the women's program. She has recruited and coached 32 of York's 33 All-CAC swimmers and been at the helm for 147 of the Spartans' 148 total all-conference accolades. During her tenure, eight women's swimmers have collected 17 All-CAC honors while 25 men's swimmers have captured 131 league accolades, including Steven Fulcher's 2007-08 CAC Male Swimmer-of-the-Year award.

McHenry resides in Jacobus with her husband, Bob, and daughters, Sophia, Isabella, and Amelia.
