YORK, PA - For the second time this year, York College sophomore swimmer Kyle Walthall (Port Hueneme, Calif./Rio Mesa) was named the Capital Athletic Conference Men's Swimmer of the Week as announced by the league office.
Kyle Walthall had a busy week as the Spartans had three events during the week. He opened his week with two first place finishes, one second and one pool record in the meet against regional power Rowan. Walthall won the 100 breast stroke in a time of 58.71. He then set a pool record in the 200 breast stroke with a time of 2:09.42. Walthall also was a part of the 200 medley relay team that finished second in the event.
Walthall recorded a second place finish in Friday's tri-meet with Penn State Mont Alto and Gallaudet, notching a runner-up finish in the 200 free with a time of 1:52.15.
Against Ursinus, Walthall recorded one first, one second and a third. He won the 200 breast in a time of 2:08.19 as he won the event by over 11 seconds. He finished third in the 200 free and was a part of the 400 medley relay team that finished second.
