The York College men’s swim team dove into the water for the last time in the 2012-2013 season at the Capital Athletic Championships placed third, with 274 points. The day would see another record fall to the freshman star Kyle Walthall (Port Huereme, Ca./Rio Mesa), who would go on to earn Capital Athletic Conference Rookie of the Year honors, the first Spartan to win the award since the 2004-2005 campaign.
The York College men’s swim team began the second day of championship action Saturday at St. Mary’s College of Maryland. Freshman Kyle Walthall shined in the 100 yard breaststroke, breaking both the school and CAC championship record.
The York College Men’s swim team kicked off the Capital Athletic Conference Championships Friday at St. Mary’s College. The morning session consisted of the preliminaries for the 500 freestyle yard, 200 yard IM, and 50 yard freestyle events.
Swimmers throughout the Capital Athletic Conference will be converging on The Aquatics Center at St. Mary’s College in St. Mary’s City, Md. on Friday for the start of the 2013 CAC Swimming Championships. The Championships, which are being hosted once again by St. Mary’s College will begin on Friday and continue through Sunday.
The York College Athletic Department is proud to announce the 2013 Athletic Hall of Fame Class. Baseball players Matt Day and Travis Gaidos will be joined in the Hall by swimmer Chip Hannig. The trio is the 23rd class of the Hall of Fame and will be inducted on Saturday, May 4, 2013.
The York College men’s swimming team finished their regular season with a 120-59 victory of the Frostburg State University Bobcats Saturday afternoon. The victory pulled the Green and White to 6-7-1 on the campaign.

Freshman Kyle Walthall is now the York College men’s swimming record holder for both the 100 yard and 200 yard breaststrokes. Despite Walthall’s impressive performance the Spartans dropped their season opener on the road at Mary Washington.
The York College men's swim team enters the 2012-13 season with high expectations under first year head coach Erin Kurtz. The Spartans are a smaller squad this year but boast a strong squad of swimmers.
