YORK, PA – Freshman Jonathan

Spartans improve to 6-1 overall and 4-1 in the CAC while the
Seahawks fall to 2-4 and 1-3 in league action.
Gottschalk continues to storm through his rookie season, as he tallied a pair of victories each in record time. The freshman first took the 200 freestyle in a time of 1:47.30, establishing new pool and school marks for the event. Gottschalk later broke the pool record in the 100 freestyle when he touched the wall first with a quick 49.11.
The 100 butterfly belonged to Arnold. The junior paced out a new pool record in the event with a time of 54.91.

Matt Kempel (Millington, Md./Queen Anne's County), Andrew Demarest (Galloway, N.J./Abesegami), and Steve Doemland (Etters, Pa./Red Land) each recorded individual second-place finishes for the green and white. Kempel grabbed the second slot in the 1,000 free with a time of 10:56.64. Demarest’s second came in the 400 IM, touching the wall at 4:35.56 and Doemland took the runner-up slot in the 500 freestyle with a time of 5:12.73.
The Spartans took the top two spots in both the 400 medley and 400 freestyle relays. The group of Bean, Tobin, Arnold, and Brian Shaffer (Schnecksville, Pa./Parkland) found victory in the 400 medley by way of a 3:44.66 time. Gottschalk, Mike Murphy (Farmingdale, N.J./Colts Neck), Shaffer and Hilt teamed up in the 400 free to win with a time of 3:23.20.
