John Barton enters his first year on Mark Ludwig's Spartan men's soccer staff.
Barton played collegiate soccer at Shippensburg University from 1994-1997 and earned both a Bachelors degree in psychology and a Masters degree in Secondary Education counseling.
Barton coached nine years of high school soccer in the York area at West York Area High School where he compiled a 115-40-11 record and earned the YAIAA Coach of the Year three times during his Bulldog tenure. Additionally, Barton coached an FC York's boy’s premier team from 2009-11.
In addition to working with the Spartans, Barton is also a middle school counselor at West York Area Middle School.
Barton lives in York with his wife, Amy, and children Dylan, Alexis, and Jacob.
