Men's Soccer Selected to Host NCAA Sectional

YORK, PA - For the third time in school history, the York College men's soccer squad will host the sectional round of the NCAA Touranment as announced by the NCAA on Monday morning. The Spartans will host Messiah College, the University of Scranton, and Stevens Institute in a four-team pod starting on Saturday.

The Spartans face the top-ranked Messiah Falcons on Saturday in their opening game. The Falcons, who are 20-0-1, earned their way to the sectional with a 3-0 win over Emory on Sunday after getting one of the two first round byes. The two squads played earlier in the year with the Falcons picking up a 1-0 double overtime win in Grantham.

Stevens enters the sectional 18-2-1 as they won a pair of games last weekend to advance. The Ducks knocked off Methodist 2-0 and Haverford 3-0 to advance to face Scranton. The Royals enter the weekend with a record of 16-2-2. Scranton earned their way to the sectional with a 6-0 win over Elms and then notched a 2-1 overtime win over Colorado College.

Game one will kick off at 11:00 am on Saturday morning followed by the 1:30 pm contest. The determination which games will be played when will be made on Monday. Saturday's winners will square off on Sunday at 1:30 pm with a trip to the NCAA Division III Final Four on the line.
