YORK, PA - York College senior goal keeper Jesse Derksen (York, Pa./Susquehannock) was named the Capital Athletic Conference Men's Soccer Defensive Player of the Week for the week ending September 23, as announced by the conference office on Monday.
Derksen led the Spartans to a perfect 3-0 week as York has now won four straight. Derksen began his week with 70:36 of scoreless soccer in the 2-1 win over Lycoming. He recorded three saves in the win. He followed that with a full game shutout of Johns Hopkins as he made four saves against the Blue Jays. He concluded his week with 68:02 of shutout soccer in the 3-0 win over Neumann. For the week, he played 228:38 without allowing a goal while he made 10 saves.
