Bua Named Spartan Athlete-of-the-Week

YORK, Pa. - York College sophomore men's soccer midfielder Antonio Bua has been named the Spartan Athlete of the Week. Bua, who receives the honor for the first time this season, led the Green and White to victory against Hood College just this passed week.

Last Tuesday, the Spartans took on the Blazers of Hood College and defeated in a 3-0 Capital Athletic Conference contest as Bua had a large part in the Spartan victory. On the first goal of the game, he provided an assist to Chris Weaver to put York on the board.

In the second half, he then posted the second goal of the game, assisted by Mike O'Connell and Kemal Nuspahic. On the season, the Spartan sophomore has accumulated four goals and five assists for 13 points.   

Bua has been a great competitor since his freshman year; with his sophomore year being quite the same. In his second year, Bua has shown great confidence as he has continued to shoot throughout the season giving the Spartans a greater chance of getting ahead. His shot percentage in the regular season is .103 with 39 shots taken, and a percentage of .158 in conference play.

Bua looks to help the York squad to a CAC tournament semifinal victory as they play Mary Washington in the Wednesday, November 3, 2010 in a 3:00 pm home match.
