YORK, Pa. - York College men's soccer standouts Antonio Bua and Adam Good have been selected as the Capital Athletic Conference Offensive and Defensive Players-of-the-Week for men's soccer. Bua and Good both posted tremendous performances in leading the Spartans to a 2-0 week.
Bua provided the game-winning score late in Wednesday's match against CAC foe Stevenson. In the 79th minute, Bua received a pass from Cody Pearson at the top of the box before rocketing his attempt past Mustang goalkeeper Ryan Flannelly. The sophomore's second goal of the 2010 campaign proved enough to lift the Green and White to a significant 1-0 conference victory.
On Saturday against St. Mary's (Md.), another CAC opponent, Bua provided a pair of assists to help York to a 3-0 road triumph. Bua distributed the helper on both of Kemal Nuspahic's tallies, including the game-winner which Nuspahic registered in the 16th minute.
Good, one of the Spartans' talented center backs, led the defensive effort in both CAC wins. Against Stevenson, the senior captain helped the Spartan defense to a shutout while holding the Mustangs' talented attack to only three shots throughout the 90 minutes.
In the 3-0 victory in St. Mary's City, Md., Good once again spearheaded a Spartan defense that allowed only a trio of attempts en route to York's third straight clean sheet.
Bua and Good will look to continue the Spartans' current three-match winning streak on Wednesday, September 29, as the Green and White travel to Lynchburg for a 6:00 pm non-conference tilt with the Hornets.
