2010: Begins his second year in the Green and White looking to capture the #1 goalkeeping job … an extremely athletic student-athlete … possesses quality experience despite relative youth … plays intelligently between the pipes … communicates well … has outstanding hands … has the ability to make both routine and excellent saves … reads the game well … with added focus has the ability to become one of the nation’s best goalkeepers.

2009: Played in nine games for the Green and White … started seven contests … totaled 586:47 minutes in goal … recorded a clean sheet, making three saves, against eventual national champion Messiah in York’s 2-0 victory over the Falcons on October 7 … notched 16 saves on the year … only allowed four goals for a goals against average of 0.61 … helped the Spartans to their fourth CAC Tournament championship … was part of York’s fifth consecutive trip to the NCAA Tournament.
 
Prior to York: Attended the University of Central Florida, a NCAA Division I program … redshirted during his freshman season.
 
Personal: Is a recreation and leisure major … is the son of Jeffrey and Alejandra Derksen … born on Mary 21, 1990 … played club soccer for Super Nova F.C. … was in the US U-17 national pool … played EPA ODP for five years … was on the regional ODP squad for four years … owns the state high school record for most career shutouts, most career starts, and best goals against average … names his grandfather as the person he most admires … hobbies include surfing, longboarding, and hiking … favorite athlete is Clay Marzo … chose York because of goalkeeping coach Jim Mustard … lists his most significant athletic achievement as being part of the U-17 national pool … most memorable athletic moment with the Spartan squad is “getting on the front page of the York Dispatch with a cheesy smile” … after graduation he plans on “starting the long journey called life.”
