Mike O’Connell enters the 2009 season as quite possibly the hungriest player on the Spartan roster. After starting the 2008 season with two goals in his first four games, a knee injury sidelined O’Connell for the remainder of the campaign. With a full off season of rehabilitation to his credit, O’Connell now looks to bolster the Spartan attack. Possessing a tall physique, O’Connell not only provides the York squad with size up front but is also a skillful player who can combine with teammates to create chances as well as finish opportunities himself.
