York College’s senior forward Andrew Wheeler (Baltimore, MD/Patpasco) has been named as the Capital Athletic Conference Men’s Soccer Athlete of the Week for the week ending September 9.
Wheeler began his week with a goal and two assists in the win over Gettysburg. He scored York’s first goal just 1:32 into the game and then assisted on Jon Ports’ game-winning goal while he also assisted on Jason Mancuso’s first goal of the game in the 50th minute of play.
In the win over Kean, Wheeler scored the Spartans’ first goal in the 46th minute and the green and white’s third goal in the 89th minute. Wheeler closed out the week with an assist on Ports’ goal in the 56th minute. He then scored the Spartans’ third goal of the game against TCNJ with his fourth goal of the week just 14 seconds after he assisted on Ports’ tally.
Wheeler finished the week with four goals and three assists for 11 points. He had a hand in seven of the Spartans’ eleven goals for the week.
For the season, Wheeler 15 points on six goals and three assists in his four games played. He has one game -winning goal and has had a hand in nine of the Spartans’ 18 goals for the campaign.
