Spartan Feature: Duffy Trades Spikes for a Computer
Former York College men's soccer player Brent Duffy has found a new home after graduation, a job in his alma mater's Sports Information office. Duffy has made the adjustment a smooth one as he has become a key part of the Spartans' sports information operation.

Jon Ports and Evan Scheffey secured d3kicks.com All-American selections following the Spartans stellar 21-3-1 campaign. Ports was honored as a first-team choice while Scheffey's efforts garnered a second-team selection. Andrew Wheeler, Jason Mancuso, and Mike Whalen also earned All-Region selections.

Spartan Men Post Stellar Season on the Pitch
The 2007 York College men’s soccer team posted one of the most impressive seasons in school history. The Spartans completed the season sporting a 21-3-1 record, advancing to the Elite Eight, and finishing the year ranked fifth in the country, both for the second consecutive season.

The York College men's soccer team dropped a heartbreaking 2-0 loss to Middlebury in NCAA Elite Eight action Sunday afternoon. York ends their season with a 21-3-1 mark while Middlebury moves on to the Final Four sporting a record of 17-2-1.

The York College men’s soccer team is making their second consecutive appearance in the Sectional round of the NCAA tournament. The Spartans are set to travel to Middlebury, VT over the weekend where the tournament’s Sweet 16 and Elite 8 matches will be held. Middlebury College is the host institution and will be joined by York, Amherst, and Williams.

The York College men’s soccer team took their first loss in over two years, dropping a 1-0 decision to visiting Salisbury University in Saturday’s Capital Athletic Conference match. The Sea Gulls (6-3-1, 2-0 CAC) hand the Spartans (9-1, 2-1 CAC) their first loss of 2007 and snap York’s 49 game unbeaten streak. Salisbury also defeated the Spartans on September 17, 2005, York’s last loss before the streak began.

Completing the two game sweep at the Joe Pombriant/CNU Classic at Christopher Newport University, the green and white increased their unbeaten streak to 44 consecutive games. The Spartan record climbs to 4-0 while TCNJ receives their first loss of the season (4-1).

The Bullets suffer their first loss of the year as they are now 2-1.

Wheeler Caps Outstanding Summer with PDL Honor
York College senior forward Andrew Wheeler capped an outstanding summer as he was named to the Premier Development League All-Star squad. Wheeler, who starred for the Hampton Roads Piranhas, was a named as a first-team forward in the league which features 63 teams in four regions around the nation.
