Jim Griffin enters his fifth season as the head coach of the York College men’s lacrosse program. Last season, Griffin guided the Spartans to their second-highest win total in program history, going 10-7 on the campaign and advancing to the Capital Athletic Conference tournament semifinals. In his first season at the helm of the program, Griffi led the green and white to a then school-record five wins. Griffin’s second season brought double the success as the Spartans went 11-5 overall and 4-2 in CAC play, as both marks were school records. In his fifth season, Griffin will look to continue to build the York program into one of the CAC’s best.
Griffin is in his eighth year of involvement with the men’s lacrosse program at York, after playing collegiately at Division II Limestone College in Gaffney, S.C. He served his first three seasons on the Spartan staff as York’s defensive coordinator and goalies’ coach. As an assistant and now the Spartans’ head coach, Griffin’s tireless efforts on the recruiting circuit have allowed the green and white to bring in a number of top-notch classes. Heading into the 2009 season, the Spartan mentor is please with the direction of the York program.
“We continue to make strides each and every season,” Griffin said. “We have a very talented group of student-athletes who are committed to making this team and this program better every day. That, in tandem with the Grumbacher Sport & Fitness Center and Kinsley Field, will enable us to continue to  grow and develop as a program.”
In addition to his collegiate coaching duties, he serves York College as an Academic Advisor for non-athletes. Griffin was also a guest speaker at the 2006 U.S. Lacrosse National Convention in Philadelphia, Pa.

Josh Hamilton

Asst. Men's Lacrosse Coach

Josh Hamilton embarks on his second season on the Spartan staff and brings a wealth of lacrosse knowledge to the York sideline.
Hamilton, who is charged with developing the Spartan attackers, will continue to work the Spartan offense this season after a successful 2008. In his first season, the Spartans accumulated 163 goals over their 17 contests, outshooting their opponents 650-581. The Spartan attack will continue to benefit greatly from Hamilton’s experience and savvy on the offensive end of the field.
