How it Happened:

• York didn't waste much time taking the lead, getting a goal from Jake Hvazda just 17 seconds into the first quarter. Matt Whitcher earned the assist, and the Spartans were off and running for a dominant opening period. The Sea Gulls tied it with 10:30 to play, less than five minutes into the game, but York answered with three consecutive goals to end the first. On an early man-up opportunity, Hvazda delicately found Hunter Davis, who spectacularly flicked his shot behind his back for the second goal, and then Hvazda scored again with just over five minutes to play to make it 3-1. York wasn't done, though, as Thomas Pfeiffer whipped a pass to Dylan Wolf for a goal with only four seconds on the clock.

• Pfeiffer made it 5-1 in 1:21 to begin the second quarter, but the Sea Gulls answered with a deadly six-goal run to end the half up 7-5. Salisbury's final goal came with just three seconds left, completely switching the momentum from the first quarter.

• After another Salisbury goal to begin the third, York dug in and earned a goal from Wolf to give the Spartans some life, cutting their deficit to just 8-6. But, a pair of goals from Salisbury doubled its lead to four. Pfeiffer scored with 1:27 left in the third to make it 10-7, but couldn't muster enough offense in the fourth to make a run at the Sea Gulls, falling 11-8.
