Gamble, Dubois, Powell Named to the 2011 All-CAC Squad
YORK, Pa. – The York College men's lacrosse team placed a trio of Spartans among the 2011 All-Capital Athletic Conference performers as Josh Gamble, John Dubois, and Tyler Powell were each chosen to the all- league second team. The three selections tie a program-record for postseason accolades as the Green and White also landed three on the All-CAC squad last season.
Gamble put together a strong senior campaign as he led York with 44 points on 30 goals and 14 assists. The talented fourth-year Spartan posted a season-high six points in York's opening game this season, tallying four goals and two assists in the 12-11 win over Virginia Wesleyan. He notched multiple goals in nine of York's 16 games this season including three four-goal efforts. Gamble leaves the Spartans as the most prolific scorer in the history of the program. For his career, Gamble posted programs records points with 175 and goals with 120. He also ranks second all-time in assists with 55.
Dubois lands on the All-CAC squad in just his first season with the Green and White. A gifted player, Dubois played in 15 of York's 16 games this season amassing 34 points on 24 goals and 10 helpers. The midfielder also contributed in face-offs winning 40 of his 70 attempts for a .513 winning percentage.
Powell proved an exceptionally steady presence in the Spartan net as he also picks up the all-league honor in just his first season with York. After transferring in from junior college power CCBC Essex where he was named a second-team NJCAA All-American, Powell registered over 835 minutes between the pipes for York while he sported a 9.55 goals against average and a .608 save percentage.
