YORK, Pa. – York College men's lacrosse goalkeeper Tyler Powell has been chosen as the latest Spartan Athlete of the Week. Following his tremendous performance, Powell becomes the first men's lacrosse player to nab the honor this spring.
Also named the Capital Athletic Conference Men's Lacrosse Defensive Player-of-the-Week, Powell helped lead York to a 2-0 mark against a pair of CAC squads.
At Hood College last Wednesday, Powell posted 12 stops in York's 9-2 triumph over the Blazers. Three days later, the former junior college All-American netminder recorded a 14-save, one-goal performance as the Spartans topped visiting Marymount (Va.) 12-1.
Powell has recorded an 8.03 goals against average this season as he has started each of the Green and White's nine contests.
