Gamble Named Spartan Athlete-of-the-Week
YORK, PA - After a superb pair of offensive performances, York College men's lacrosse junior attack Josh Gamble (Easton, Md./Easton) has been selected as the most recent Spartan Athlete-of-the-Week.
Gamble led the Green and White to a 1-1 week, with that one loss coming to #14 Haverford and leading the Spartans to a 16-10 triumph at Messiah. The junior tallied 12 points over those two non-conference tilts including three goals and two assists against the top-15 Fords.
Gamble's outstanding five-goal, two-assist performance against the Falcons led York to their second win of 2010. He posted four of those scores in within the first three quarters, including two of the Spartans' first three tallies.
For the season, Gamble leads the squad with 19 goals while recording nine assists, the second-best mark on the team. He has started each of York's six games this season as he as also been tremendous in extra-man opportunities, having scored five goals when the Spartans have a man-advantage.
Gamble will now look to lead the Spartans to third third victory of the year as they host 5-0 Dickinson on Tuesday, March 16, in a 3:30 tilt.
