Spartans Slated for Fall Tournament at Elizabethtown

YORK, PA - The York College men's lacrosse team is slated to play in a three-team fall tournament at Elizabethtown College on October 4. York and Elizabethtown will be joined by Franklin and Marshall.

The Spartans, who finished last season at 10-7, their second-best record in program history, welcome back a slew of strong returners who will look to lead the green and white to unprecedented heights in 2009.

Senior Steve Mersinger (Westminster, Md./Westminster) embarks on his final campaign after being selected to the All-CAC first-team as a defenseman last year. Attackman Ryan McNicholas (Fallston, Md./Fallston), York's leading goal scorer from a season ago with 27 tallies, returns for his junior year, while fellow junior Ryan Schab (West Islip, N.Y./West Islip) looks to lead the Spartan midfield. Senior Brian O'Neill (Lititz, Pa./Manheim Township) and sophomore Josh Gamble (Easton, Md./Easton) will look to put up significant numbers on the offensive end in 2009.

The times for each game have yet to be announced. Check back to www.ycpspartans.com for further information as the fall tournament draws near.
