Collins Named CAC Men's Lacrosse Athlete of the Week

YORK, PA - York College sophomore goalkeeper Chris Collins (Westminster, Md./Westminster) has been selected as the Capital Athletic Conference's Athlete of the Week in men's lacrosse. Collins posted outstanding performances against both Salisbury and St. Mary's last week.

Against the then top-ranked Sea Gulls, Collins put on an exceptional showing as he recorded 22 saves against the vaunted Salisbury offense. The visiting Sea Gulls fired 51 shots at Collins, while the sophomore only allowed 13 goals to a team that averaged near 20 per game.

This past Saturday, Collins helped the Green and White to their first-ever win over St. Mary's, courtesy of a 7-5 victory. Collins played just under 59 minutes in the contest making 13 stops in 32 Seahawk attempts. He led a tough Spartan defense that did not surrender any scores in the second and third periods.
