Henninger Suits Up for USILA North/South Contest
YORK, PA - York College men’s lacrosse senior attack
Kyle Henninger (Millers, Md./Hereford) recently
participated in the United States Intercollegiate Lacrosse
Association 2008 North-South All-Star game on May 23 at Harvard
Stadium. Henninger’s selection was the first such choice in
the history of the Spartan program.
The contest consisted of a collection of some of the top NCAA
Division III players from the north and south regions along the
east coast.
Henninger, who was chosen to represent the Spartans on the South
squad, was one of only six attackmen selected to the team
throughout the southern region. York’s top points man this
year continued his scoring prowess as he tallied one goal to help
lift the South to a thrilling 16-15 comeback victory.
“It was a great experience to play with the highest level of
talent in the [area],” Henninger said. “It was also a
great honor to represent York College and to really show how much
the lacrosse program here has grown over the past few
years.”
Henninger paced the green and white with 38 points on the year on
23 goals and a team-leading 15 assists.
“Kyle was simply outstanding for us this year,”
Spartan head coach Jim Griffin said. “He was definitely a
huge reason for the success that we had in 2008. For him to have
the opportunity to play in this type of a game is not only great
for our program but it is also something that he will remember for
a long time.”
Henninger’s strong performance helped to vault the Spartans
a 10-7 record their second best season in program history.
