As a freshman, he started 21 out of 28 games at the shooting guard position as he averaged 8.6 points per game. Named a team captain in his sophomore campaign, Bollinger earned All-Freedom Conference Second Team honors after ranking second in the conference in scoring average with 18.1 points per game. After two seasons at Delaware Valley, Bollinger transferred to Millersville University where he was a steady and reliable player for the Marauders. Starting over half the games he played in, Bollinger helped MU achieve a 32-25 record with two trips to the conference tournament in two seasons, in addition to being named a team captain his senior year. He averaged 74.2 from the free throw line in two season with Millersville and finished his four-year collegiate career with 989 total points.

Bollinger graduated from Millersville in May of 2014 with a bachelor's degree in psychology.

Bollinger also has local ties to the York area as he is a graduate of Eastern York High School. He earned back-to-back all-county honors as a junior and senior. He helped guide his team to a county and district championship his senior year in a season where his team reached the state semifinals and finished with a 31-1 record.
