Spartan Men Open CAC Tournament Thursday against Salisbury

YORK, PA – The York College men's basketball team begins their 2018 Capital Athletic Conference tournament journey on Thursday evening as the second seeded Spartans host third seeded Salisbury University at Charles Wolf Gymnasium.

These two are familiar foes as the Spartans and Sea Gulls had reversed roles last year as Salisbury was the second seed and outlasted the third seeded Spartans in double overtime in last year's CAC semifinals in Salisbury.

The Spartans are 21-21 all-time in the CAC Tournament while they are 5-10 in semifinal round games, capturing championships in 2004-05 and 2011-12 … York is 0-5 in CAC tournament games against Salisbury, falling in the first round to the Sea Gulls in 2007-08, 2010-11 and 2012-13, and in the semifinals in 2005-06 and 2016-17 … Salisbury is 15-16 all-time in CAC tournament games, capturing championships in 1995-96 and 2014-15 … Salisbury is 6-5 in semifinal round games … Salisbury holds a 41-37 edge in the all-time series between the two programs.
