Spartan Men Head to Salisbury for CAC Semifinals

YORK, PA – The York College men's basketball squad used their best offensive performance of the season to get past Wesley and reach the Capital Athletic Conference semifinal round where they will travel to play second-seeded Salisbury. The Spartans split with the Sea Gulls this year, with each team taking care of their home-court advatange.

The Spartans are 18-20 all-time in the CAC Tournament while they are 7-6 in semifinal round games, capturing championships in 2004-05 and 2011-12 … York is 0-4 in CAC tournament games against Salisbury, falling in the first round to the Sea Gulls in 2007-08, 2010-11 and 2012-13, and in the semifinals in 2005-06 … Salisbury is 14-15 all-time in CAC tournament games, capturing championships in 1995-96 and 2014-15 … Salisbury is 5-5 in semifinal round games.

The winner of tonight's game advances to the CAC championship game. On the other side of the bracket, Christopher Newport hosts Marymount Thursday at 8:00 pm. Marymount defeated St. Mary's (Md.) 69-64 on Tuesday to reach the semis. The two winners will play in the championship game on Saturday, February 25 at the highest remaining seed.
