YORK, PA – York College senior forward Paul Kouvaris (Baltimore, Md./Cardinal Gibbons) has been selected to represent the Mid-Atlantic region in the fan vote for the Reese's Division III All-Star game at the Final Four in Salem, Virginia on March 17.

Kouvaris is one of eight players that can receive votes for the two ten man teams. The top two vote getters will earn a berth in the game that will be held prior to the national championship game on Saturday.

Spartan head coach Jeff Gamber hopes Spartan Nation will turn out to support Kouvaris.

"I am hoping that people will go vote for Paul for the all-star game," says Gamber. "It's a great honor to be nominated for the game but it's even better if we can work to vote Paul into the contest. He is a great player and belongs in the game."

Kouvaris finished his career last Friday night in the NCAA First Round game at Franklin & Marshall. He closed out his four-year run as the Spartans' 12th all-time leading scorer with 1,305 points. He was named the CAC Player-of-the-Year last week, the third Spartan to earn the Player-of-the-Year award under Gamber. It's the second time Kouvaris has been honored by the CAC as an all-league player.

Kouvaris finished the year averaging 16.9 points, 6.6 rebounds, and 1.5 assists per game. He shot 55.2% from the floor and 74.3% from the free throw line.

Kouvaris led the CAC in scoring while he was sixth in field goal percentage, first in free throws made, first in free throw attempts, 10th in free throw percentage, and eighth in rebounding.

To vote for Kouvaris, go to Voting opens on Monday, March 5, 2012 at 12:00 pm and closes on Wednesday, March 7 at noon EST. Spartan fans are encouraged to vote early and often for Kouvaris. The link goes live at noon on the 5th.
