York senior forward PAUL KOUVARIS (Baltimore, Md./Cardinal Gibbons) was selected as the CAC Men's Basketball Player of the Week after averaging 15.5 points, 8.0 rebounds and shooting 60% from the field in a pair of CAC victories. Kouvaris recorded the 11th double-double of his career with 17 points and 11 boards in Wednesday's win at Wesley. He was a blistering 6-for-8 from the floor while he was 5-for-9 at the free throw line in the win.
The victory at Wesley was just the third home loss for the Wolverines dating back to the start of the 2008-09 season. Two of those three losses have come to the Spartans.
He followed up with 14 points, five rebounds and an assist in Saturday's victory against visiting Marymount. He was 3-for-7 from the floor and 8-for-12 from the free throw line.
For the season, Kouvaris is averaging 14.4 points and 6.6 rebounds per game. He is shooting 55.2% from the floor and 69.8% from the charity stripe.
