The York College men's and women's basketball teams will host a Capital Athletic Conference doubleheader this evening at Charles Wolf Gymnasium. Both Spartan squads earned three seeds in the tournament, allowing them to host the two first round games.
The women tip off the action against sixth-seeded St. Mary's at 6:00 pm. The two teams split their previous meetings with each win coming at home. The Seahawks defeated the Spartans 79-70 in overtime back on December 8 in St. Mary's. The Spartans secured the season sweep on February 2 when the Green and White posted a 69-51 victory in York. The winner of the game advances to face the second-seeded Marymount University Saints on Thursday night in the CAC semifinals. Tip time at Verizon Arena will be 7:00 pm.
The men follow the women at 8:00 pm as they host a familiar foe in Salisbury. The Spartans and Sea Gulls just saw each other on Saturday as York posted a 79-70 overtime victory. York also captured a 62-61 victory in Salisbury on January 15. The winner of the game travels to second-seeded Wesley College to face the Wolverines in Thursday's semifinals. Tip time in Dover, Delaware is set for 7:00 pm.
A change in Capital Athletic Conference policy now allows all Spartan season ticket holders to be admitted to the game without any additional charge like there had been in the past. All York College students are admitted free with a valid York College ID.
