YORK, Pa. – York College men's basketball senior Dylan Hoffman has been selected as this latest edition of the Spartan Athlete-of-the-Week. Hoffman led the Green and White in scoring during both of York's difficult non-conference defeats this week.
Against Messiah on Tuesday, a four-point 66-62 loss for the Spartans, Hoffman paced the Green and White with 15 points on 5-for-8 shooting, including a 2-for-3 performance from beyond the arc. The senior guard canned all three of his free throws as he also grabbed four rebounds and dished out two assists during his 26 minutes of action.
On Sunday in York's 67-54 loss at Gettysburg, Hoffman again led the Spartans in scoring, this time with 14. He registered a 5-for-9 showing from the floor, 1-for-3 from deep, and again 3-for-3 from the charity stripe. Additionally, he corralled three rebounds and handed out a trio of helpers over his 29 minutes.
For the season, the senior captain is averaging 9.0 points per game, on 51.6% shooting, including a strong 62.5% from three. Hoffman is also posting 3.6 rebounds per contest and 3.0 assists per outing.
Hoffman and the Spartans will now look to snap their two-game losing skid as they return to the floor on Wednesday, December 1. The Green and White welcome Capital Athletic Conference foe Wesley to the Grumbacher Sport & Fitness Center this Wednesday in both teams' CAC openers. Tip-off is slated for 8:00 pm.
