Golfers Finish Second at Alvernia Spring Invitational

MOHNTON, PA  – The York College golf squad put together a strong performance at the Alvernia Spring Invitational on Tuesday afternoon at Ledgerock Golf Club in Mohnton, PA. York finished second of nine teams in the one-day tournament.

Notes:

Tyler Keim led the Spartans with an eight over par 80. Keim shot a three over par 39 on the front and a five-over-par 41 on the back … Keim had one birdie on the par five eighth hole … Brandon Hur shot a 40 on the front and a 41 on the back for his 81 … Hur birdied the par four sixth and the par four ninth holes … Tyler Newton shot just his third career round in the 80's with his 85 … He shot a 39 on the front and a 46 on the back … Newton notched back-to-back birdies on the par five seventh and the par five eighth hole …. Wolbach shot 41 on the front and 44 on the back for his 85 … Austin Parker played as an individual in the tournament as he fired an 89 with a 42 on the front and a 47 on the back … Alex Colton was the fifth Spartan starter as he shot 90 as he went 43 and 47 for his first round in the 90's for the year.

What's Next:

The Spartans conclude their season with a trip to the three-day Capital Athletic Conference championships starting on Friday at Bay Creek Resort in Cape Charles, Virginia.  The Spartans will play a practice round on Thursday before starting the tournament on Friday morning.
