Rough Monday Drops Spartans Down the Leaderboard

HERSHEY, PA  – The York College golf squad had a rough day during day two of the 2016 Hershey Cup as the Spartans dropped to 12th place in the 15 team field on Monday. The Spartans shot a team total of 342 after shooting 321 on Sunday. York finished tied for 12th with NYU at 663.

Notes:

Tyler Newton led the Spartans with a nine over par 80 as he finished tied for fourth in the tournament out of 87 players … Newton shot a team best 42 on the front and a 38 on the back … York did not record a birdie on the day.

What's Next:

The Spartans travel to the Elizabethtown College Spring Invitational on Thursday afternoon. The tournament will be held at Hershey Country Club East as the Green and White will play their third straight competitive round on the course. The action is slated for a 12:00 pm start.
