GLENMAURA, PA – The York College golf squad finished fourth at the 12-team Glenmaura National Collegiate Invitational hosted by the University of Scranton on Monday in Glenmaura, PA.
The Spartans posted a day two score of 330 as the windy conditions significantly increased all the team scores after a great day for golf on Sunday. The Green and White finished with a two-day total of 642. McDaniel won the tournament with a total score of 623 while Scranton finished second at 627. Susquehanna eased past the Spartans to finish third at 639. Swarthmore rounded out the top five at 643.
The Spartans were led by junior David Boslough (Dalton, Pa./Lackawanna Trail) as he matched his day one total with a six-over-par 77. Boslough fired a 37 on the front and a 40 on the back as he finished tied for third in the 58-player field.
Sophomore Ryan Wolbach (Gilbertsville, Pa./Boyertown) shot 85 during day two as he finished with a total score of 159 to tie for 15th.
Senior Kevin Long (Webster, N.Y./Webster-Thomas) and Anthony Wagner (Cold Spring Harbor, N.Y./Cold Spring Harbor) each finished tied for 27th with a total score of 166. Wagner shot an 82 on Monday and Long carded an 89.
Josh Strausbaugh (Orlando, Fla./Lake Howell) concluded the tournament with a two-day score of 170 to tie for 34th in the field.
The Spartans return to action on Friday afternoon when they begin defense of their Capital Athletic Conference championship at the 2014 CAC Championships at Dauphin Highlands Golf Club in Harrisburg, PA.
