Spartan Golfers Finish 10th at Elizabethtown Spring Invite

HUMMELSTOWN, PA – The York College golf squad finished tenth of 16 teams at the Elizabethtown Spring Blue Jay Classic at the Hershey Links in Hummelstown, PA on Thursday afternoon.  

The Spartans shot a team score of 326 to finish 33 strokes back of team champion Messiah as the Falcons shot a blistering score of 293, just a combined five over par.

York finished four strokes out of a tie for seventh and six strokes out of a top five finish.

Travis Oot (Kirksville, N.Y./East Syracuse Minoa) led the Spartans as he carded a six-over-par 78 as he finished tied for 18th in the 88-player field. Eric Stauffer (Harrisburg, Pa./Bishop McDevitt) finished three strokes back of Oot as he fired a nine-over-par 81.

Freshman Tyler Keim (Limerick, Pa./Spring-Ford) tied for 48th with a score of 83 while David Boslough (Dalton, Pa./Lackawanna Trail) rounded out the York scorers as he shot an 84 to tie for 54th.

The Spartans return to action on Sunday, April 14 when they travel to the Glenmaura Invitational Tournament in Glenmaura, Pa. The two-day tournament concludes on Monday, April 15.
