HERSHEY, PA – The York College golf squad returned to action as they finished fifth at the 16-team Elizabethtown Fall Blue Jay Classic at Hershey Country Club East in Hershey, Pa. The Spartans shot a team total of 317, three strokes out of a second place finish.
Messiah won the tournament with a team score of 304. Albright finished second at 314 while Alvernia and Stevenson tied for third at 315.
Junior Kevin Long (Webster, NY/Webster Thomas) led the Spartans as he shot a five-over-par 76. Long finished tied for sixth in the 83-player field. Sophomore David Boslough (Dalton, Pa./Lakawanna Trail) returned to the Spartan lineup after missing the previous three tournaments with an injury and shot a 79. Freshman teammate Ryan Wolbach (Gilbertsville, Pa./Boyertown) tied Boslough for 17th with a 79 of his own.
Freshman Tyler Keim (Limerick, Pa./Spring-Ford) rounded out the Spartan scorers as he shot an 83 which tied him for 42nd.
The Spartans conclude their fall season on Monday afternoon when they travel to the Lebanon Valley Fall Invitational. The tournament is set for a 12:30 pm start.
