Spartans Finish Tied for 8th at SU Fall Invitational

SELINSGROVE, PA – The York College golf squad finished tied for eighth at the ten-team SU Fall Golf Invitational on Saturday at Suquehanna Valley Country Club. The Spartans shot a team total of 322, which tied them with Mt. Aloysius for eighth. Manhattan won the team championship with a score of 299. Elmira placed second at 307 while Susquehanna and Scranton tied for third at 309.

The Spartans were led by senior Andrew Schmehl as he carded a five-over-par 75. Schmehl shot 37 on the way out and carded a 38 on the backside. Sophomore Kevin Long was next for the Spartans as he shot an 11-over-par 81. Senior Adam Dupler was one stroke back of Long as he shot an 82. Senior Adam Burkhart rounded out the Spartans' starting lineup as he shot an 84.

The Spartans are now 13-10-1 overall. The Green and White returns to the course on Monday when they travel to the Bent Creek Country Club to participate in the Bent Creek Invitational. The action is set for a 12:30 pm start.
