HARRISBURG, PA – The York College golf squad closed out their 2010 fall campaign with a ninth place finish at the 11 team Messiah College Falcon Fall Classic at Blue Ridge Country Club in Harrisburg, PA. The Spartans shot 333 in the event, a make up from an early October rain out. Messiah won the tournament on a match of the fifth score over Hood as the Falcons captured the title with a score of 309.
The Spartans were led by junior Adam Dupler as he fired a four-over-par 76 at the par 72 tract. Dupler finished tied for fifth, six strokes back of Messiah's Matt Burkhart who captured the individual championship with a two-under 70.
Junior Adam Burkhart was the next Spartan finisher, as he placed 35th with a 12-over-par 84. Wes Dixon was two strokes back of Burkhart with an 86 while Seth Sober was the Spartans' final participant as he shot an 87.
The Spartans conclude the fall campaign with a mark of 40-23-4. The Spartans had three top-four finishes during the fall and their best team score, a 323, came at the Bent Creek Invitational in Lancaster, PA. The Green and White resume their season in March.
