Spartans Finish Fourth at Bent Creek Invitational

LANCASTER, PA – The York College men's golf squad finished fourth of 15 teams at the Bent Creek Invitational on Monday at Bent Creek Country Club in Lancaster. The Spartans shot a season-best 323 as a team. They finished one stroke out of third and eight strokes out of second. The host Franklin & Marshall Diplomats finished first with a team score of 308. Moravian was second at 315 while Cabrini was third at 322.

Freshman Travis Oot paced the Spartans as he carded a six-over-par 77 to finish tied for 11th in the 84-man field. Junior Andrew Schmehl carded a 79 to place himself in a tie for 16th.

Junior Adam Burkhart shot an 82 to finish tie for 29th while Adam Dupler shot an 85 to round out the four Spartan scorers. Freshman Ryan Feeney played as an individual and shot an 80 to tie for 19th.

The Spartans, who are now 33-13-3, close out their fall season on Thursday as they travel to the Gettysburg College Fall Invitational. The tournament is slated for a 12:30 pm start.
